Photo Phrenzy, Part #2: Butterflies and Caterpillars

Okay, the first one is not a butterfly. It is a clear-winged moth.

The Joe Pye Weed attracts lots of different butterflies, but I always save a few stands of milkweed for the Monarchs. Lots of caterpillars this year.

  1. We have had virtually no monarchs this year. Only raised a dozen. Last year we had over 70. See very few flying around. We’re blaming the spring storms that were tracking through far south during the migration. I’ve been telling people they’re all out east somewhere.

Maybe my crackpot theory is correct.

  2. Very cool post. Fascinating creatures…

  3. Really cool photos! Thanks for sharing.
